The Art of Danielle Boodoo-Fortuné

Inspirited New 2017

Local Art mixes with Uncorked

Uncorked Wines and Spirits Limited in collaboration with The Fashion Arch Gallery is excited to announce the launch of its local art exhibition series at Uncorked.

First up in the exhibition series would be Danielle Boodoo-Fortune. Fortune presents, Inspirited, a collection of works spanning 2015-2017, celebrates transformations. Fifteen pieces that go through various moments of becoming; epiphanies and the various transitory stages of life. It explores growth as an alchemical process in which one becomes something else entirely. The collection exhibits a tenderness and nurturing spirit marked by the journey into motherhood as well as an awareness of the necessity of change. Boundaries between self and other become blurred, and subjects become fluid, communing with each other and with the natural world around them.

Danielle Boodoo-Fortuné is a visual artist and poet. Her first solo art exhibition, Criatura, was held at the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago in June 2013. The artist’s other public installations and creative projects include a live mural painting session, conducted at the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago in a 2013 exhibition entitled Belle Eau. In 2012, Boodoo-Fortuné was judged one of the winning artists of the Trinidadian arm of Urban Heartbeat, a transnational street art tour spanning Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. She has also been featured in several group shows, such as the Museum of Latin American Art’s Frida Kahlo-themed Women’s Day exhibition in 2014. Inspirited opens on September 29th, from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm, and runs until October 14th, during the hours of 10am-
6pm from Monday to Friday and 10am-4pm on Saturdays. For more information please email or
